Respond
According to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), the "Respond" function refers to the processes and activities that an organization uses to take appropriate action in response to a cybersecurity event. This includes activities such as incident response, forensics, and communication with relevant stakeholders, as well as the development of procedures for responding to and managing security incidents.
The goal of the Respond function is to ensure that an organization is able to effectively manage and mitigate the impact of a cybersecurity event, and to take appropriate action to prevent similar events from occurring in the future. By having a well-defined incident response plan in place, and by regularly training and exercising this plan, an organization can ensure that it is prepared to effectively respond to and manage a wide range of cybersecurity events.
